Rally For Impact
Rally For Impact is our corporate social responsibility commitment to mobilize citizen engineers, serve our communities and protect the planet.
Mobilize Citizen Engineers
We have a bold vision to mobilize “citizen engineers” to solve the world's toughest problems. Leveraging Rally's Agile software solutions and the expertise of Rally Software users and Agile coaches, we can accelerate the growth and adoption of citizen engineering projects to benefit communities around the world.
The focus of our strategic social impact initiative is inspired by the book, Citizen Engineer, in which the authors define citizen engineers as “the connection point between science and society -- between pure knowledge and how it is used. Citizen engineers are techno-responsible, environmentally responsible, economically responsible, socially responsible participants in the engineering community.”
The Rally For Impact Foundation is dedicated to enabling the engineers of the planet to apply their skills and expertise for positive social change. Learn more about Rally For Impact Foundation.
Serve Our Communities
Our social mission is grounded in making a positive impact in the communities where Rally employees live and work. Our culture of giving encourages employees to spend 1% of their paid time volunteering, as well as giving back to their community on their personal time. As a result, Rally employees have contributed nearly 16,000 volunteer hours since 2006. We actively embrace the community around us by participating in and hosting events focusing on social enterprise, entrepreneurism, technology and sustainability.
Rally has worked with innovative social impact organizations such as Rocky Mountain Microfinance Institute, where employee volunteers provide Agile coaching, training, business planning and team facilitation. Our employee experts also have offered “Act Like An Agilist” courses to social entrepreneurs at the Unreasonable Institute and Impact HUB Boulder.
Protect the Planet
Environmental sustainability is more than a company initiative at Rally: it’s a way of living. Our office facilities focus on reduced waste through reusables, bulk purchases over single use, recycling and composting, where available. Purchasing of supplies considers the source and content of materials. We are continuously striving for improved energy efficiency and reducing the impact of employee commuting.
Our office headquarters in Boulder, Colorado, which employs 60% of our staff, has partnered with internationally-recognized nonprofit Ecocycle to become a Zero Waste facility. The Boulder and Denver offices have a large bike-to-work population and we offer all Colorado employees a company-paid Eco-pass for public transportation.
Rally’s products are primarily deployed as Software as a Service (SaaS), without the creation or shipment of physical goods. As a global business we regularly evaluate our energy consumption within our office locations and data centers.
