Robert,
This model can be used to explore many more sub-variables of these high-level four, but I only recommend that as part of an exercise to work bottom up to boil up to a one-page, state transition roadmap. I always want to end up at some kind of a one page plan that people can remember. More than one page and it is too hard to remember or communicate.

Hi Ryan,

Great article. Thanks too for sharing the transition plan. I agree with the idea that a big bang transformation with a definite end is a false idea and not one that companies should consider.

It appears that you and I are on the same page of how to help companies transition, you with the above and I with ADS Skirmish. The key really seems to be a steady implementation of Agile practices and tools. That way we can build trust in the teams and we don't derail current progress.

Thanks again.
