What we saw when introducing agile to our teams was that the level of self-confidence and readiness to solve problems themselves improved dramatically. When we started, the team considered nearly all impediments they found as to be resolved by the management. But after a couple of iterations they hardly ever declared an impediment as &quot;not solvable by the team&quot;. They understood that they have a multitude of ways to influence things, even if they seem out of reach at first glance.</description>

		<description>Great post Ryan. I love the dialog that you have at the top. Typical management training turns people into resources rather than keeping them as people. Agile leaders understand that people are people, and also that in order to have a truly productive team, you need to focus on the team - aiding, enabling, and at times protecting them. Once a solid basis of trust is in place and team members believe that others are sympathetic to their cause and struggle, they can rally around management objectives, and begin to truly collaborate with those inside and outside of the team.</description>
