Mark Richards began his career as a developer in the late 80's, and spent the latter half of the 90's as a trainer and mentor in development techniques. Initially drawn to Agile in 2000 through the engineering quality focus of Extreme Programming, he embraced Scrum in 2005 and rapidly found his focus moving from quality of code to quality of teamwork and culture. Having previously introduced Agile to finance, defense and government organisations, Mark has spent the last 18 months as part of the Agile adoption initiative for Australia's largest telecommunications provider. This initiative has seen him deliver training to over 1,000 Agile team members, coach a large data warehouse program of work in the application of Agile, and most recently expand the Agile training to engage executives from general manager to CIO level in the establishment of an Agile leadership culture.
