What:

Since its launch less than one year ago, Rally Software Development has emerged as the leading provider of knowledge, coaching and tooling for managing the entire Agile software development lifecycle.

At PSQT 2005 http://www.psqtconference.com/2005west/, two of the company's executives will deliver the following presentations focused on improving Agile-based processes:

Let's End the Defect Report-Fix-Check-Rework-Cycle
As one of the creators of PVCS Tracker, and early contributor to Rational RequisitePro, Leavitt will share his extensive defect tracking experiences with PSQT attendees and describe the shift occurring in test early, test often development environments. Historically, defect reports are often the primary means by which testers and developers communicate, while defect metrics drive critical release decisions. But this defect-driven approach near the end of a "test-last" release cycle has little relevance in more modern iterative and incremental development practices. His presentation will provide an overview of how software organizations are revamping their defect tracking work flows and project metrics in response to dramatically shortened development cycles.

Synchronizing Software Testing with Agile Requirements Practices
Together with software development luminary and Agile consultant Dean Leffingwell, McAuliffe will present proven techniques for adopting Agile practices that defer the development team's commitment to requirements and other artifacts until the "last responsible moment." This allows the test team to stay continuously synchronized with the product owners and developers - in spite of shortened lead times - until the test artifacts must be in place. This presentation describes the organizational and technical challenges associated with just-in-time Agile requirements practices, and demonstrates the techniques test teams can use to address them.
