You can edit multiple attribute values in two places:

Multi-edit on summary pages

To quickly set or change the attribute values of multiple work items of a single type at one time, use the multi-edit view on any work item summary page.

  1. Select the Multi-Edit option from the button.

    All work items of the selected type are displayed, and each work item displays multiple fields available for editing.

  2. Click the drop-down arrow or the icon where available and select the desired value for each of the fields.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow for those fields displaying this option to select a new value.
  4. Enter new textual information for fields with a text box.
  5. Click Save.

To change multiple items to the same column value in a single edit:

  1. Select the Multi-Edit option from the button.
  2. Select each row's check box to indicate which work items are to be changed by the edit action. By default all check boxes are checked.
  3. Select a value from the Change Column drop-down list.
  4. Select a value from the To drop-down list (or enter text depending on the type of field being edited) and click Apply.
  5. Click Save. Your edits are committed to the database.

Bulk-edit on the Backlog page

You can edit multiple values from the Backlog page using bulk edit mode.

To enter bulk edit mode:

  1. Select more than one work item by placing a check mark in the check box on each row. The gear menu will switch to bulk edit mode bulk icon.
  2. Click the bulk edit mode gear menu and select Edit.

  4. Select the field that you want to edit and select a new value.
  5. Click Apply to edit the selected work items.
