Getting file:// protocol to work in Firefox
Print this topicEmail this topicSave as PDF
By default Mozilla does not allow links with the "file://" protocol. In this default setting the Rally file url functionality does not work.
You can override the default by modifying the Firefox network settings:
- Type "about:config" in your browser's address field.
- Use the filter to locate the network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris entry.
- Double click on the setting to edit it.
- Enter the address of your intranet site, ex:. http://intranet.myco.com
- OK the change
- Close the browser and restart.
- When you restart the file urls should work.
The Mozilla network settings are are described at: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_don't_work

Rally Word of the Day
The origin of agile development methodologies. Crafted in 2001 by several software developers, the manifesto stresses the importance of individuals and interactions over processes and tools; working software over comprehensive documentation; customer collaboration over contract negotiation; and responding to change over following a plan.
