You may have heard many terms related to customization of pages in Rally. Here are some quick explanations for these terms, and guidance on where to go next to customize a page. Let's start with terms that have been replaced.

Mashup

Has been renamed as "App" in Rally.

Custom Tab

Has been renamed as "Page" or "Custom Page" in Rally.

App

A customized application that can be run directly in the Rally tool. Generally coded in JavaScript to query various data points in a Rally subscription, and chart/display the results. Rally also provides some pre-built apps in a catalog.

Page or Custom Page

Refers to the sublinks that exist underneath the main Rally tabs (My Home, Plan, Track, Reports). Allows you to create a link that appears next to standard pages under each tab. An independent page where your custom or catalog app can be accessed. These pages can be shared with other members of a Workspace.
