Modifying Schedule States

Schedule State is a built-in drop-down field that is shared by all work products.

It behaves slightly different from custom drop-down fields:

  1. It can only have six values, two of which may be hidden and/or customized.
  2. Four of the values are non-modifiable (they cannot be edited or disabled):
    • Defined
    • In-Progress
    • Completed
    • Accepted
  3. There is a customizable value before Defined ("Custom 1"), and a customizable value after Accepted ("Custom 2")

To change either of the two custom values, follow these steps:

  1. Bring up the Schedule State field editor window
    1. Click Setup in the upper right corner of any Rally page.
    2. Click the Workspaces & Projects tab.
    3. Click the name of your workspace.
    4. Click the Work Products & Fields link that appears in the sidebar to the left.
    5. Select Defect or User Story inside the Work Product Type drop-down list. (Changes to this field will span across all artifacts that contain it.)
    6. Click the edit icon next to Schedule State.
  2. Select the Custom 1 value by clicking on it in the Drop Down List Values box
  3. Change the value in the Value field
  4. Change the value in the Legendfield
  5. Check the check box next to the Enabled field
  6. Click on the green Actions checkmark
  7. Save your changes.

Your new Schedule State value(s) should now be ready to use!
