From the Track tab, the Iteration Status summary view displays all scheduled items for the selected iteration and their related tasks task, test cases and test sets test case (available only if your subscription includes Rally Quality Manager), or defects defect. Use the Iteration Defect Status view to assess work items and the related defects and defect suites scheduled to the selected iteration. Select an iteration from the drop-down list, or scroll through all listed iteration by clicking the previous and next arrows adjacent to the drop-down list.

When using a project hierarchy, this view reflects any view scoping settings that you have indicated in the project drop-down list box. All charts and columns display the cumulative totals for all projects that have the same iteration name and time box (start and end date).

Tracking iterations includes the following topics:

Viewing iteration defect status

This view provides a colored iteration defect indicator box displays critical iteration defect information. Click anywhere on the mini defect status chart to display the full-sized Defect Status Chart.

The right half of the iteration defect indicator box displays the Defect Summary information for the iteration. The table displays the following values for any iteration selected in the iteration drop-down list:

Header Description
Found The count of all defects created during the iteration that are directly associated with the iteration or associated with work items in the iteration.
Active The count of all defects that have a status other than Closed that are scheduled into the iteration or are associated to a work item scheduled into the iteration.
Closed A count of all defects with a status of Closed that are associated with the iteration or associated with work items in the iteration. Note: If defects are closed after the iteration but are still associated with the iteration, they are included in this count.

When the scheduled item entry is expanded, all active defects, regardless of priority or severity, are displayed underneath the scheduled item. If there are no active defects associated with the scheduled item, No defects displays in the respective column.
  • Filter your scheduled items using attributes such as Status and Owner.
  • Sort on the Rank, ID, Name, Plan Est, State, Project, and Owner attributes of each scheduled item displayed in the view.

Available Total amount of task resources available for the iteration.
Status Compares the remaining amount of work to do to the calculated ideal burndown value for the daily burndown bar. When the figure appears in black, you are on target to meet the iteration completion date based on the ideal burndown calculation. A red number indicates there may be too much work left to do, and the team is in danger of not being able to complete the iteration by the scheduled date.
