On-Site, Hands-On Coaching with Software Teams and Managers
This service is divided into two on-site visits (Parts I and II), each designed to help software teams and managers accelerate their Scrum adoption.
Part I
What’s Happening Now? Where are We Going?
First, we’ll facilitate a retrospective on your current environment to fine-tune team learning objectives. Next, we’ll introduce Agile values and practices and teach your team how they apply to their world.
Groom the Backlog
Next, we’ll facilitate a team backlog grooming session to ensure that your product backlog contains appropriately sized and prioritized items. Lessons will include analog exercises.
Plan the Sprint
Using a rough velocity estimate, the team will plan their first sprint in Rally. They will review the highest priority backlog stories, conduct capacity planning, tasking and finally, commit to the sprint.
Part II
Demo a Product Increment for Stakeholders
We will brief the team and stakeholders on the purpose of the demonstration. Then, the team will demonstrate a working product increment for stakeholders to gather feedback to potentially incorporate into the next sprint.
Learn from the Retrospective
We will facilitate a retrospective scoped to the prior sprint time-box. The team will share observations and opportunities for improvement and then discuss and prioritize action items they may plan for the next sprint.
Groom the Backlog and Plan the Next Sprint
The team will revisit the backlog to review, define, break down and prioritize stories based on any changes that occurred during the first sprint. Next, they will plan their second sprint using the results of the first sprint as a reference.
