Rally Release 2010.3

Rally Release 2010.3 is focused on improving Rally's administrative capabilities for customers managing large numbers of users or projects. We have also enhanced our tagging capabilities, improved test case traceability, and updated our connector for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

What's New in Release 2010.3

For Rally Enterprise & Unlimited customers

  • Bulk User Management
Rally administrators can now view all users and manage their respective permissions on the Project Users page. You can search for users, add new users, edit a users' permissions and copy user permissions from an existing project – all from a single screen. This saves significant time and reduces errors for Rally administrators managing a large number of projects or users.
  • Project Administration – Copy Releases/Iterations to Child Projects
When a child project is created, administrators now have the option to copy all current and future releases and iterations from the parent project to the new project.
  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Support
We have updated the Rally Connector for Visual Studio to support Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, allowing developers to view and update Rally tasks and defects without leaving the Visual Studio IDE.

For Rally Community, Enterprise & Unlimited Customers

  • Access Test Cases from Defects
When test cases are associated with a defect, the test cases and test runs can now be accessed directly from the defects detail page. You can enter new test cases and associate them with defects from the iteration status and release status pages. This provides improved traceability between test cases and defects.
  • Tag Inline Edit
Tags are extremely useful when you wish to group related work items that span project and story hierarchies. We have added the ability to quickly add, remove or create multiple tags on a work item from the backlog page and dashboard panels.
  • Improvements to Revision History
Revision history descriptions are now processed by a difference algorithm that annotates the difference between revisions, providing better revision history data for lengthy entries.
