Technical Advisory Board

Rally Software Development Corp. has recruited some of the most successful and experienced luminaries in the software development industry to serve on its technical advisory board. The board provides insight and guidance into the design and advancement of Rally, the industry's first on-demand Web subscription service for managing Agile software development.

Luke Hohmann

Mr. Hohmann is an internationally-recognized expert on agile product management of software products. He is CEO/founder of Enthiosys, an agile product management consulting company focusing on customer insights, business/licensing models, roadmaps and product trainings. Hohmann is the author of "Journey of the Software Professional: The Sociology of Computer Programming", "Beyond Software Architecture: Creating and Sustaining Winning Solutions", and is on the board of the Agile Alliance.

Shai Koenig

Dr. Koenig has more than 23 years of experience in software development organizations, specializing in software development processes, methods and tools. He currently works for Comverse where he manages the development of the company's proprietary system for product lifecycle management. Dr. Koenig is also on the faculty of the Computer Science Department at The Open University of Israel, where he teaches software engineering courses in the university's graduate program. Prior to Comverse, Dr. Koenig managed Tadiran Telecom's Software Engineering Quality and Processes Group.

Philippe Kruchten, Ph.D., P.Eng.

Dr. Kruchten is a professor of software engineering at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Prior to UBC, Dr. Kruchten spent 17 years at Rational Software, now part of IBM, first as a technical consultant for the design of large software-intensive system and as the development manager for the Rational Unified Process (RUP), a software process framework now commercialized by IBM. He also spent eight years at Alcatel, developing telephone switches. He is the author of five books, including the very successful "The Rational Unified Process-an introduction" (Addison-Wesley, 2003), translated in nine languages. He is associate editor-in-chief of the IEEE Software magazine.

Dean Leffingwell

Mr. Leffingwell is an entrepreneur, software industry executive and technical author who provides product strategy and business advisory services to software companies. He is the lead author of Managing Software Requirements: Second Edition: A Use Case Approach, Addison Wesley, 2003. Leffingwell was co-founder, chairman and CEO of Requisite, Inc. before its acquisition by Rational Software in 1997. In addition to being an active software team consultant, he's a director and advisor to numerous software and technology companies.

Mary Poppendieck

Ms. Poppendieck has been in the IT industry for 25 years and has managed solutions for companies in several disciplines, including supply chain management, manufacturing systems and digital media. Today, Poppendieck is treasurer of the AgileAlliance (www.agilealliance.org) and president of Poppendieck LLC. Her book Lean Software Development: An Agile Toolkit, Addison Wesley, 2003, won the Software Development Productivity Award in 2004.

Randy Stafford

Mr. Stafford is a chief architect at IQNavigator, a leading provider of services procurement and spend-management solutions and an early Rally user. Stafford has long been a prominent member of the enterprise application architecture community, having contributed to such books as Martin Fowler's Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture, and Floyd Marinescu's EJB Design Patterns. He serves as a reviewer of books on Agile development and conducts workshops at conferences such as the Agile Development Conference.
