How can we mobilize engineers to solve our biggest problems?
Our world is facing what seem like insurmountable problems — global climate change, hunger, water shortages…the widening gap between the rich and the poor. My vision is to mobilize engineers to help tackle these global problems.
I’m an engineer. That doesn’t just describe my training or my job description — it’s who I am. I look at the world through a scientific, analytical lens and when I identify problems, I prototype ways to solve them.
Engineers have unique viewpoints and skills and – in my opinion – a unique responsibility to use our abilities for the good of all.
At SXSW Interactive, I would like to talk about this question:
Why can’t we, as engineers, team up to solve some of the world’s biggest problems?
